Join us for the 3rd Annual Weekend of Kindness! October 24-25, 2020
Each year the Charlotte's Purpose crew hosts a Weekend of Kindness in honor of Charlotte’s birthday. Acts of kindness are organized by us, friends, family members, and sometimes even strangers! Projects can occur on the weekend itself, or be completed by then so we can celebrate the good this weekend puts into the world together. This year’s Weekend of Kindness will take place on October 24-25.
This year's Weekend of Kindness "BIG PROJECT" is a Book Drive for Monarch Global Academy. Our goal is to purchase children's books with Black and Brown authors, main characters, and culture to be donated to MGA classrooms. Last year's book drive, organized by Kindness Crew members Sandi and Amber, was a huge success and we hope this year's will be too! (Read more about the 2019 Weekend of Kindness Book Drive here:Article | Interview) You can support the 2020 Book Drive project by purchasing a "Human. Kind. Be Both" tee through our Custom Ink fundraiser or by purchasing books from our Amazon Wish List. You can also donate new or used books to us directly by mailing them to:
Want to Host Your Own Kindness Project? If you would like to host your own act of kindness to be included in the 2020 Weekend of Kindness, please let us know what you plan to do via email (firstname.lastname@example.org), twitter (@charliespurpose) or contacting us through our Facebook page "Charlotte's Purpose"! No act of kindness is too small to be a part of Charlotte’s celebration and there are no limits on the types of kindness you can do. Need some ideas? Projects from past years (that do not yet have 2020 leaders) include:
📌Paying for a stranger’s birthday cake at a local bakery in honor of Charlotte 📌Donating to local food pantries or drives assisting those who are food insecure 📌Creating care packages for medical staff, firefighters, and other community helpers 📌Cleaning up a public park 📌Fill a sidewalk or street with uplifting chalk messages 📌Donate blood or sign up to become an organ donor 📌Donate to causes that provide memorial items for loss-parents 📌Creating care packages for the homeless community 📌Plant a tree 📌Shovel snow or mow the lawn for a neighbor 📌Packing bag lunches or serving at a local Soup Kitchen 📌Paying for a stranger’s ice cream, coffee, or meal 📌Writing letters or making drawings for a local nursing home
