Frequently asked questions

What kind of writing or artwork is usually selected?
The "Fox Sightings" blog,  "Our Books & Stories" collection, "Expressions of Grief" art gallery, and "Our Stories" memoirs on Charlotte's Purpose is a collection of writing focused on processing grief after losing a child to stillbirth.  We want to learn how you have experienced your grief journey- the good, the awful, and everything in between.   We will not publish heavily political writings.   We are interested in the many perspectives of those who love the baby who died- mothers, fathers, grandparents, siblings, and friends.

What are your submission guidelines?
Posts, poetry, stories, and artwork should be original (completely your own work and not published on any other site or in any other publication), and fully finished & edited.  By submitting your work to "Fox Sightings", you agree to allow Charlotte's Purpose one-time publication and archival publication rights.  Work that is not accepted will not be used in any other way.   If you choose to write anonymously, you may make a note in your submission email for us to publish the piece as "Anonymous".

When will I be notified if my proposed post is accepted?
Writer's will typically be notified within two weeks of their submission if it has been accepted.  If you do not hear back from Charlotte's Purpose after two weeks has passed, please feel free to reach out to us to check-in at [email protected].   If your work is not initially accepted, this does not mean that future pieces won't be considered, it simply means that this piece was not a good fit at this time.  Please consider submitting another piece in the future.

Will I be compensated for my writing?
Unfortunately, at this time we can not pay authors for their work, so all submissions are voluntary.   Please let us know if any original content that you are sending (quotes, etc.) have been published elsewhere and if you have permission to republish it.  We will note where it was originally published so as to avoid copyright infringement.  Sponsored content and/or links to outside content will be accompanied by the following: "Charlotte's Purpose is not affiliated with this sponsor."
